much in the art department going on
ill bust out the scanner soon
ive been painting up a storm
yay for watercolors

there should be some progress made
soon
with at least one of the books
or maybe we’ll start a new one

gotta get with the writing

and now that everything is pretty much out of the way
record wise
i shall resume working on
the boy who was a bomb
which totally needs a better title

on the western front
on the eastern front as well
too quiet
i wonder if that means anything
probably not

maybe it means that after i finish writing these two records
i can start working on my book again
assuming the xbox360 doesnt catch me completely off guard

part of me wishes this site would go back to being a collaborative project
it helps to have talented unlazy friends
who actually sort of understand how the web works
[burn on nick and chris and dan]

but
it goes to show
that if you want something done….
odds are you are gonna have to do it yourself

the guy who wrote the flickr plugin i was having so much trouble with is rewriting the whole thing from scrath
using some sort of third party API
joy
course it would be great to have a solid api
offered through ~~flickr~~ anyone
where i could post junk t/here comment on it
and boom it shows up on both ends
perhaps this means that i can finally get all this crap together

its back to work on the book
i promise [to all four of the people that know about it]
maybe even sooner.

ive sort of lost my way with it
not the story so much as the point
[though it doesnt really need to have a point per se]
and a few new techniques ive been pondering have given me a couple of false starts compounding the slowness

the two things id like to do with it [eventually if ever]
are

do the whole thing in real [thats analog] watercolors
redo the color for all the pages i have so far, at least in part

whatever.

so
i have officially given up on making the flickr thing work
i am not that intuitive a developer
humble apologies
and
frankly
i have enough on my plate
with the writing and drawing
this damned book

anyway
as a temporary fix
and possibly a permanent solution
albiet not an elegant one
i have put the first 12 pages [soon to be 15]
in one giant sized article
up while I hunt up a new solution

anyone that would like a pdf
or high res scans
let me know
and ill make it availible

almost a month later
[ive been buried in other things. i have a full plate. sue me]
and im SO close
granted its not the most dynamic situation
but close
to say the least
very close
took much hacking around
all im gonna say though is
yay for recursive forms
yay for textpattern for thinking in terms of control
and not tables
and a million different forms
like so many other CMS’s out there
looking at you joomla, mambo, wordpress

well more appropriately
vdh_flickr plugin for txp can be retarded
have a feeling i need to spend some time
working this out in my head
but in a nutshell
one of the things i want to do
it have a current list of say the last three pages
from each book under neatht he nav
which means that i either need to hack the plugin
ick
or
figure out a work around using the modular action
already inherent in textpattern
i know the answer
is right in front of me
but
all i draw
is a blank
as in stare
